biography
Minghui Zhang is a Researcher at the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Medical Robotics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, under the supervision of Prof. Yun Gu and Prof. Guang-Zhong Yang, FREng.
His research lies at the intersection of medical imaging, multimodal foundation models, topology-centric anatomical intelligence, and agentic surgical robotics. He develops clinically grounded AI systems that connect anatomical understanding, multimodal reasoning, and autonomous intervention.
He was recognized as an IEEE TMI Outstanding Reviewer (Gold Level, 2024; Bronze Level, 2025) and was invited to serve on the IPCAI Award Panel in 2024.
Selected honor. Grand Prize, Algorithm Track, 15th ZTE Global Elite Challenge — ranked 1st among more than 20,000 participants and awarded RMB 250,000.
